The Vantage South End Parking Deck is managed by Preferred Parking and serves the parking needs of tenants of Vantage South End, including their employees and visitors. To ensure equitable fulfillment of each Tenant’s parking requirements, all Tenants are requested to cooperate in the enforcement of the parking deck rules and regulations.
All parking allocations for Tenants of the Building are defined in the Building Lease; therefore, all spaces outside provisions of the Building Lease are considered month-to-month and are cancelable upon thirty (30) days written notice by the Garage Manager or the Building Owner.
The parking deck is located at 1220 S. Tryon St. There are four elevators in the parking deck providing service to all levels of the garage from the East and West Office Towers.
All parking areas (entrances/exits) are controlled via an access card. Two parking deck entrances/exits are located on W Catherine St, and the loading dock entrance/exit is located on Winnifred St. Please direct all guests of your company to the W Catherine St entrances. Visitor rates are posted at the entrances of the parking deck.
The second level of the parking deck is reserved for two-hour retail parking. Levels three through ten are non-reserved parking and on a first come, first served basis.

Access to the contract parking areas is controlled by a computerized card access system. The following are considerations when using the parking garage access system:
- Each contract parker must register his/her vehicle (car color, make, model and license plate number) with the Spectrum Parking and Vantage South End Management Team.
- A replacement charge of $25.00 per access card is assessed for lost, damaged (i.e. warped, cracked) or stolen cards.
- Should the access card not allow access to the parking facility, please contact the Vantage South End Management Team. If the card is defective, it will be replaced without charge.
- The access card must be used on each entry/exit to the parking facility. The card access system is operational 24 hours.
- The following may cause damage to the access card:
- direct exposure to sunlight and/or heat
- Paper clips/magnetic objects, including magnetic money clip, will de-magnetize card
- Carrying in wallet in back pocket may warp card
- eel skin wallets will de-magnetize card

PARKING GARAGE
- VSE employees will have access to parking in the Vantage South End Parking deck. The parking deck is located at 1220 S. Tryon St. There are four elevators in the parking deck providing service to all levels of the garage from the East and West Office Towers.
ACCESS
- Primary Access: VSE employees will be given one decal that should be displayed on the headlight of their primary vehicle. The headlight AVI readers located towards the bottom of the entry/exit access gates will detect your decal and automatically raise the access gates to allow your car to enter/exit the garage. Only one active headlight decal per individual with parking privileges.
HEADLIGHT DECAL
- VSE employees will receive a decal to be placed on the driver side headlight. If a replacement headlight decal is needed, please reach to Preferred Parking for assistance via email [email protected] or phone 704-285-8068
PARKING SPOT DESIGNATION
- The second level of the parking deck is for two-hour visitor parking only. Any spaces without a reserved parking sign on levels three through ten are considered non-reserved employee parking and on a first come, first served basis.
- There are a total of three electric charging stations in the parking deck, each having two charging cables. There are two charging stations on level 2 and one station on level 3. The charging stations are for the use of charging your vehicle only, not more than two hours.
PARKING GARAGE ACCESS HOURS
- Employees are permitted to have 24/7 access to the parking garage.
SPECIAL EVENTS
- At times, the parking garage will be utilized for special events. During these events, employees may be subject to different procedures or costs associated with using the parking deck (ex. sports and other community events).
MOTORCYCLE PARKING
- Motorcycles are strictly prohibited to travel beyond the gated sections of the parking deck. All motorcycles must park in a designated motorcycle parking locations at the entrance on the hotel side, closest to Tyron Street.

DRIVING VEHICLE OTHER THAN YOUR PRIMARY VEHICLE
- Registered parkers will be granted two (2) courtesy exits per month. This will assist individuals who are not driving their registered vehicle with the headlight sticker. When entering the parking deck, pull a ticket and use the intercom button at the exit station. You will be connected to a Preferred Parking customer service agent who will allow you to exit once your registration information is verified.
ISSUES
- If you are having issues with your headlight decal to enter garage, please pull a ticket and contact Preferred Parking at [email protected] 704-285-8068.
- If you purchase a different vehicle, as your primary vehicle, you may purchase a replacement headlight decal. The decals can be purchased through Preferred Parking by visiting the parking office located in the parking deck on the hotel side (closest to Tryon St.)
PARKING DECK RULES
- The speed limit is 5mph in the garage and in the loading dock.
- Vehicles must park within the lines of a parking space with their license plates visible from the drive lane.
- Vehicles parked over the lines, in designated parking spaces, in no parking areas or drive isles are subject to towing or immobilization.
- All headlight stickers must be installed on the vehicle. If team members have not installed the headlight sticker and are trying to wave the sticker out of their drivers’ side window, this will create a credential misread potentially deactivating the credential. In the event the credential is deactivated, the team member will have to go to the Preferred Parking office to have the credential reactivated and installed on the vehicle.
- To avoid mis-reads of parking credentials, please leave at least 1 car length between you and the car ahead of you. When cars are too close, the card reader may be picking up the 2nd car and creating entry/exit issues for both vehicles. Our vendor is working to fine tune the reader range to reduce the chance of credential reading errors. Speed bumps are installed in all 4 lanes to slow traffic and increase distance between vehicles.
- The best manner to approach the gate is as follows: Do not pull forward until the vehicle in front of you has completely moved through the gate arm and the arm is back in the down position. If the arm has been raised for the vehicle in front of you, the gate will close on your vehicle if you attempt to move through the entrance without allowing the full entry/exit cycle to complete.
- Preferred Parking is monitoring and enforcing the 90-minute parking spaces and written violations will be issued. The first offense is a written statement of the 90-minute parking policy, the second offense is a formal written violation notice, and the third offense will be a formal violation with an $85 fine. This area will be enforced starting Monday June 3, 2024.
- In the event a car moves through the gates without allowing the entry/exit cycle to complete and the gate arm is dislodged, please be aware that Preferred Parking is writing citations in the amount of $250 to repair the gate. The $250 fine is the rate Preferred Parking established for the tenants/registered parkers of the building. The fine starts at $1,000 for visitors not affiliated with any of the companies at the site.
- Anyone parker parked in a reserved space will be wheel-locked or towed. If your car is immobilized, please contact Preferred Parking at 704-285-8068 or [email protected].
- Your reserved parking space is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please let us know if there is unauthorized usage of your parking space at any time.
- We encourage all parkers to lock their cars. Landlord and Parking Manager are not responsible for any items stolen or damaged in the deck.
- Your parking account allows overnight parking in the parking garage. If possible, please contact our Preferred Parking ([email protected]) so they are aware of your over-night stay.
- Parking areas shall be used only for parking vehicles no longer than a full-sized passenger automobile. No motorcycles, trailers and no over-sized vehicles are allowed.
- Washing of vehicles, changing of oil or all other automotive servicing is strictly prohibited.
- Parking access may not be sublet, transferred, sold or borrowed.
Preferred Parking will be placing written violation notices for the following infractions:
- Not parking within the lines of a parking space.
- Parking areas shall be used only for parking vehicles no longer than a full-sized passenger automobile. No motorcycles, no trailers and no over-sized vehicles are allowed in the deck.
- Parking in corner areas not designated as parking spaces.
- Unauthorized vehicles parking in reserved parking spaces.
- Double parking.
- Please do not park in the EV charging stations all day. There is a 2- Hour limit for active charging.
